Cancellation & Refund Policy
01 Monthly Subscriptions
Cancel anytime — no lock-in
You may cancel a monthly subscription at any time through your account settings or by emailing refund@scatterbrain.tech.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain full access to all paid tier features until the last day of the period you have already paid for.
Monthly subscriptions are not eligible for prorated refunds for the current billing period. There are no partial-month refunds — you receive the full value of the period you paid for.
02 Annual Subscriptions
14-day money-back window
Annual subscriptions cancelled within 14 days of the initial purchase date or most recent renewal date are eligible for a full refund, no questions asked.
After the 14-day window, a prorated refund may be issued at our discretion for the unused complete months remaining in the annual term. Partial months are not refunded. To request a prorated refund, contact refund@scatterbrain.tech — we will review and respond within 5 business days.
03 Top-Up Credits
Credits are non-refundable once allocated
Top-up Credits purchased as one-time add-ons are non-refundable once they have been allocated to your account. This applies regardless of whether the Credits have been consumed.
The sole exception is a documented billing error — if you were charged for top-up Credits you did not intend to purchase due to a billing system error on our part, contact us within 30 days and we will investigate and issue a full refund if the error is confirmed.
Top-up Credits expire 12 months after purchase. Expiry is non-refundable — please purchase only the Credits you expect to use within the validity window.
04 Free Tier
No billing — cancel equals account deletion
The free tier involves no payment. There is nothing to refund. If you wish to stop using the Service, simply stop using your account or delete it from the account settings page.
Account deletion removes your project data in accordance with the data retention schedule described in the Privacy Policy (90-day retention period, then permanent deletion).
05 How to Cancel
Option 1: In-app cancellation
The preferred method is self-service cancellation from within the application:
- Log in to your Scatterbrainz account at scatterbrain.tech
- Navigate to Settings
- Select Billing & Subscription
- Click "Cancel subscription" and confirm
Your cancellation is processed immediately. You will receive a confirmation email to the address on your account.
Option 2: Email
Send a cancellation request to refund@scatterbrain.tech from the email address associated with your account. Include your account email and the word "cancel" in the subject line. We will process email cancellations within 2 business days and confirm by reply.
06 Billing Errors
If you believe you have been charged in error — for example, if you were billed after cancellation, charged the wrong amount, or charged for a plan you did not select — please contact us within 30 days of the charge:
- Email: refund@scatterbrain.tech
- Subject line: "Billing error — [your account email]"
- Include: your account email, the charge date, and a description of the discrepancy
We will investigate within 5 business days. If a billing error is confirmed, a full refund for the erroneous charge will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days.
Billing error claims submitted more than 30 days after the charge date may not be eligible for refund.
07 Chargebacks and Disputes
We strongly encourage you to contact us at refund@scatterbrain.tech before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer. Most billing issues are resolved faster through direct contact than through the chargeback process.
When you contact us about a billing dispute, we commit to:
- Acknowledging your inquiry within 1 business day
- Completing our investigation within 5 business days
- Issuing a refund or providing a full explanation of why the charge was valid
If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting us, your account may be suspended pending resolution of the dispute. Accounts with confirmed fraudulent chargebacks may be permanently terminated.
